Writing compelling, traffic-magnet blog articles are relatively easy to achieve. If you stick with the basics and if you strive to make your posts lively, very tight, factual, and short, you'll be just great.
Here are some tips to keep in mind:
1. Keep your sentences and your paragraphs short. Have you read an online article that uses lengthy, complicated sentences and paragraphs? Well, I have but closed it after the second or third sentence. Why? It's because reading this type of articles can cause me painful headaches. Why do I need to suffer from that when I can easily find other articles that are as informative but are easy to read and understand? I am sure your target audience feels the same way. So, use short, declarative sentences and simple paragraphs all the time.
2. Insert useful links. Your readers will appreciate it if you point them to different blogs, articles, or websites that contain information related to the topic that you're writing about. Point them somewhere they can find in-depth explanation, background information, or useful opinions of industry leaders.
3. Less is more. This is one of the best things that I've learned in many years of writing for online users. As a writer, you need to learn how to express your thoughts and ideas using as few words as possible. After writing your blog articles, review each of your sentences. Are there any words that you can remove to make them even shorter? Know what looks like fillers and fluffs to your target audience and remove them before you publish your articles online.
4. Have fun. Blogging isn't the same as writing your college research page. So, loosen up! Write the same way you'll talk to your buddies and skip all the formalities. Ask questions, use your great sense of humor, tell stories, share your experiences, etc. Being fun and witty is something that can help you create a lasting mark on the minds of your readers.
5. Make your articles easy to skim through. Using several white blank spaces is always good when writing for online users as this helps in making your content easy on the eyes. You can do this by writing using bullet list, short paragraphs, and subheadings. You can also break your texts using graphs, images, and illustrations.
6. Offer real value. Show your visitors how much you value the time they spend on your blog by giving them articles that are worth their while. Your articles must contain some information that they're looking for. These could be the answers to their burning questions, how-to guides to help them do things on their own, solutions to their pressing issues, insider tips and trade secrets, etc. Writing these type of articles will not only help you impress your readers but this is also the key to growing the number of your followers in no time.
7. Proofread and edit. It could be that your articles are filled with useful information but if they contain too many glaring errors, your readers will still not be happy. So, proofread and revise your articles before you click that publish button.
